Do you want to build a snowman? (Weather Operations Update!)
It looks like we could have some yucky (unless you are like me and love the snow) weather heading our way starting mid-day Wednesday. Some things that you need to know about weather scenarios and GSCC operations…
1. First and foremost, before you decide to venture out in the wintery mix to come to work, please carefully evaluate your ability to drive safely. Your safety is the most important!
2. Please know that should you choose to stay home because of the weather, you will need to use your PTO for any weather-related absences.
3. As of now, we have no plans to close the health centers. If that changes, the Leadership Team will make the determination quickly and then inform the Department Leaders via text. The Department Leaders will then contact their teams via text. (Department Leaders, make sure you have all your peeps phone numbers!).
4. If the Leadership Team decides to close the health centers or delay opening them if conditions require it, you will also need to use your PTO per our weather policy.
5. Depending on the severity of the storm and the availability of team members, we may choose to only open one site (which will be Walnut as it is larger, and they have x-ray for slips and falls). Department Leaders, please prepare for this scenario should that occur.
6. We will be pushing information out to you via text. Please make sure to respond as appropriate so that we can ensure you are all informed.
7. David has been planning for weather conditions and is prepared to get us ready for opening with ground preparations, etc.
8. Elena is working with Tiffany and Vanessa to ensure that patients are notified should an opening delay or closure occur.
9. Heidi lives on the north side of the Arbuckles, therefore she may not be able to make it in to open the pharmacy. Please be prepared to assist patients with getting their medications elsewhere should that occur.
10. Due to the potential for HIPAA related events, we will not be authorizing people to work from home.
11. If/when you know that you will not be able to make it to work, please let your supervisor know so that contingency plans can be implemented as soon as possible to ensure adequate patient care coverage.
