Stepping into Wellness

HEY SHEEPS!

In the spirit of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming GSCC Step Challenge starting March 4th until April 2nd (30 days)

1. Teams:

Here are your teams. The names highlighted in green are your “Team Captains”. For this challenge, I have separated the groups as best I could by “pod” some are a little different due to the distance we have between our sites.

👉 Role of a Team Captain: As a captain, their main job is to spread positive energy, motivate team members, and make this challenge a blast for everyone!

2. Step Trackers:

To help you on your journey, we'll be distributing paper step trackers to all participants. Your goal is to hit at least 3,000 steps a day. Don't worry if you don't have a smartwatch; you can download a pedometer to your phone to track your steps (the "FitBIt" app is free as well and lets you track your steps without an app), or feel free to get an old fashioned clip on pedometer (yes, those still exist!)

I also have some old FitBit Flex devices, that pair with a cell phone, that you are more than welcome to use if you are interested, please just reach out to me! 

3. Scoring:

  • You will earn 1 point for each day you achieve at least 3,000 steps.

  • Additional points will be awarded for Individual and Team achievements:

    • Individual with Most Steps: 10 points

    • Most Consistent Individual: 10 points

    • Team with Most Steps: 5 points per person of that team

    • Most Consistent Team: 5 points per person of that team

PRIZES AND RECOGNITION:

One Wellness Champion will be awarded $500 each quarter, so take your steps!
