State of the GSCC - October & November
As we close out the fall months and get ready for the final stretch of 2025, I want to take a moment to share a clear, honest, and encouraging update about where we are as an organization. A lot has happened across October, and November — some visible, some behind the scenes — and every bit of it connects back to the work that each of you do every single day.
The Leadership Team and Directors have been working hard on crafting department strategies for next year that paint an exciting picture of where we want to go as an organization. I can’t wait for them to share their plans with all of you! We will share a bit more about the plans for 2026 at the Christmas Party on December 19th and at our all-staff Pep Rally on January 7th.
Meanwhile…this update is a snapshot of our progress over the last couple months, our challenges, and a sneak peek of the direction we're headed together.

State of the GSCC - September 2025
GSCC Team,
I said this last month, but I want to keep repeating it until we all believe it!!! GSCC is not just a health center — it’s a mission field, a team of people who show up every day to serve with heart. In the past 30 days, you’ve welcomed new staff, adapted to big changes in operations, and kept giving your best to our patients. This update celebrates those wins, shares the challenges we’re facing, and looks at the road ahead — because every one of you matters in what we’re building.
At GSCC, we’re building more than a clinic — we’re a community health center creating a model of care where every patient feels known, cared for, and supported in every part of their health journey. That means …

State of the GSCC - Q3 2025 Edition
Dear Team,
As we wrap up July, I want to take a moment to recognize the meaningful progress we’ve made—and to look ahead with focus and momentum. Our Q3 Planning Meeting earlier this month was one of the most energizing and aligned Quarterly Planning Meetings we’ve ever had, with strong ownership from both our leadership and director teams. In this update, you’ll find important highlights on our organizational performance over the past month, and a deeper look at how we’re continuing to evolve the way we deliver care. I’ve created a separate post with our Q3 Organizational and Departmental ROCKS so that you know what we will all be working towards through September.

Organizational Goals (Q3 ROCKS) Recap
Each quarter, we set clear, focused goals—our “ROCKS”—to help us move closer to becoming the most effective, patient-centered organization we can be. These aren’t just tasks on a list; they’re strategic priorities that reflect where we’re going and how we’ll get there. The following Q3 goals represent the collective commitment of our leadership and department teams to strengthen our systems, elevate care delivery, and ensure every team member has the support and clarity they need to thrive. Every goal moves us forward—and every one of you plays a vital role in making that progress possible. Thank you!
Your directors and leaders have committed to targeted, measurable goals this quarter, including:

Important Announcement: New Individual Site Operations Leadership Model
Dear Team,
As our organization continues to grow in size, complexity, and impact, our structure must grow with it. To better support you and our patients, we are implementing a new Site Leadership model beginning in Q3 (July–September) and continuing forward. This model introduces a dedicated and focused Senior Site Operations Director and dedicated Site Operations Directors at each care site. (Similar to how Vanessa Brown oversees the dental health center site.)
This is more than an org chart update—it’s an intentional step toward improving the support you receive, the experience our patients have, and the overall efficiency of our operations.

NEW Care Delivery Model!!!! Shifting from “Visit-Based” to “Value-Based Panel Management”
Shifting from “Visit-Based” to “Value-Based Panel Management”
Traditionally, primary care has been organized around individual office visits—patients seek care when they feel sick or need a specific service. While that model addresses acute issues, it often misses proactive, population-level health management. Our Care Delivery Model (CM-1 through CM-3) transitions GSCC to “panel management,” where each care team takes responsibility for the health of a defined patient panel rather than reacting only to face-to-face appointments.

PTO, Attendance and Pay Increases
Team,
I have some important updates to share. I'll start with the tougher news first:
This year we've been focusing on closing financial gaps so we can better serve our patients and create more opportunities to grow. We've chosen a few key areas where we need to improve as an organization because these are our sources of revenue and are how we pay all of you:
Provider Schedules: Many schedules, especially for our newer providers, aren't consistently full.
Insurance Underpayments: Insurance companies have been paying us less than they should for our services.
Pharmacy Capture: We need more patients using our in-house pharmacy.
While working on these and identifying other opportunities to close financial loss gaps, we uncovered another significant financial issue related to paid time off, payroll and attendance:
