Phone System "PARK" Error Solution
With the new phone system we have discovered a slight user complication.
When calls are being placed on a "park" they are staying there for long periods of time and "locking" the team members extension.
We have discovered that the cause for this is when you are transferring a call and you place it on hold from the buttons at the bottom of the screen and then park it, it keeps your extension on the "park", thus "locking" it.
In order to fix this, before you place the call on a "park" please be sure it is not on "hold". If you previously had it on "hold" please be sure you select "resume" then place the call on "park".
Please reach out to Tiffany with any questions!

Hello March! (or do I mean Merch!?)
Have you noticed? New merch is constantly being added to the Herd Merch shop.
The tricky part is, sometimes it’s limited AND I won’t tell you when it drops! (Congrats to you few who snagged one of the 15 cool new pullovers!)

No More Masks!!!...at least for now.
Two years ago, we put them on…TODAY, YOU CAN TAKE THEM OFF!! Woohoo!
The CDC has released our area from the need to wear our masks due to the low prevalence of COVID-19 occurrences in our region.
We will not require that you or patients wear them, but you are certainly welcome to continue to wear them if you feel as though you should.
Please know that we may adjust the requirement should cases increase in the future. Until that time, I am looking forward to your smiles!

Winter Weather & PTO
Due to the condition of the roads last week, the Leadership Team made the difficult decision to close GSCC on Wednesday, February 23rd and Thursday, February 24th. It was also decided that NO ONE will have to use PTO for those 2 days. All team members will receive their regular pay for those days. This decision was decided for this situation, but will NOT always be the case in the future.
The Walnut clinic was open on Friday, February 24th, but functioned with a skeleton crew for the 1/2 day. If you are normally scheduled to work on Fridays, but were unable to make it in, you WILL need to put in PTO hours for the 1/2 day.
As always, please feel free to reach out to myself or Katie should you need additional information.
Happy Monday to you!

Do you want to build a snowman? (Weather Operations Update!)
It looks like we could have some yucky (unless you are like me and love the snow) weather heading our way starting mid-day Wednesday. Some things that you need to know about weather scenarios and GSCC operations…
1. First and foremost, before you decide to venture out in the wintery mix to come to work, please carefully evaluate your ability to drive safely. Your safety is the most important!
2. Please know that should you choose to stay home because of the weather, you will need to use your PTO for any weather-related absences.
3. As of now, we have no plans to close the health centers. If that changes, the Leadership Team will make the determination quickly and then inform the Department Leaders via text. The Department Leaders will then contact their teams via text. (Department Leaders, make sure you have all your peeps phone numbers!).

KINDNESS is Contagious....but worth spreading!!!
We have received some reports of appreciation from several of you and we decided that it would be a great opportunity to showcase the amazing work our team members do everyday!
Jordan has worked her “creative magic” and has added a new area to the HERD THAT page called “We HERD that EWE” (found at the bottom of this page)! We will begin posting positive reports that we receive from all team members as a way of showing our appreciation and working to focus on the positive actions of the day.
So, to get us started, I would like to challenge each team member to submit a “kudos” or word of appreciation to someone or even a “feel good” story from your department. I know that the work you all do is challenging, and sometimes it feels like no one sees what you do. I want you to know that we see you! We know you’re working diligently to provide the best care for our patients, and we appreciate you!
Start noticing when you see a team member doing something right, showing kindness, compassion, or just smiling and pushing through a tough day!! Send those positive notes or stories to Jordan via TEAMS, email or even using the “Marketing Request” option on this page! She will make sure they are added to the page!
Thanks again for all you do!!!!

Staffing Shortages and NEW Incentive Bonuses for THEM and YOU!
In an effort to combat our shortage of nursing and patient access staff, the Leadership Team met and decided to offer a hiring or “sign-on” bonus to well qualified nurses (LPNs), medical assistants and patient access team members for joining our team. The bonus will be $1,500 for each new hire in one of those three categories to be paid out over time. The qualified nurse, medical assistant or patient access applicant who is offered and accepts a position with the GSCC will receive the first $500 after their probationary period at 60 days, a second $500 at 6 months and the final $500 on their year anniversary date.

SCOTUS Reinstates CMS Vaccine Mandate for Oklahoma
Last week, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled to reinstate the CMS Vaccine Mandate for the states under the temporary stay. Following the SCOTUS ruling, CMS eatablished deadlines for the states under the temporary stay (which included Oklahoma). Their deadlines coinside with our vaccine deadlines (30 days from notice), therefore our vaccine deadlines will remain in effect…first deadline 2/11 and the second 3/4. This mandate is for all healthcare facilities in all states (except Texas…for now) who accept Medicare and Medicaid (SoonerCare) insurances not just the Good Shepherd.
