New Building Plan...

Hey, Beautiful Humans! I hope you enjoyed our video last week of the new facility and are as excited as I am!

I am already getting questions about when we are moving, who is moving and all sorts of curious questions. This is the plan moving forward but please bear in mind it could change as there are a lot of unknowns at this time. Remember…one of our core values is FLEXIBILITY! ;)

REMINDER! Literacy Day is THIS SATURDAY!

REMINDER! THIS Saturday, August 12th, from 10am-1pm is Literacy Day! The Good Shepherd will be set up there at Central Park and I would LOVE your help!

What is Literacy Day?

Literacy Day is a Back to School event hosted by Ardmore Literacy Leadership and Arbuckle Literacy Leadership. Through this event they provide (for kids) FREE eye screenings, backpacks, school supplies, dental goody bags, and access to MANY community resources - like us!

It’s a great opportunity to get the word out about all the great services we offer here at the GSCC.

What does Volunteering Include?

Volunteering at Literacy Day is mostly about being a smiling, welcoming face that shows people we do healthcare differently! Handing out supplies and GSCC swag is really all there is to do, other than tear down!

Got Kids?

That’s okay! Bring them!

Want to Volunteer?

GREAT! Let me know you’ll be there! Be sure to wear a GSCC Tee and bottoms that are appropriate in length! REMEMBER! You represent the GSCC when you wear the tee!

You are not required to stay the whole event, remember, this is a volunteer opportunity! Just come for as long as you can!

I am so glad I get to work with awesome people like YOU!

xJG

I need YOUR HELP!

Hey, friends!

I am gearing up for the team Pep Rally coming NEXT MONTH! I always like to do some sort of interactive trivia or something like that! This time I want to do superlatives!

What is a superlative?
The superlatives list (typically in yearbooks) captures the essence of who your classmates (co-workers) are and who your entire class (team) thinks they will become. In some ways, it's one of the greatest compliments.

Maybe it’s because I was homeschooled and we just have family photo albums instead (haha), but I always thought they looked super fun!

What I need from you:
- Send me what you think your coworkers would say about you via teams and we will see how it matches up!
- Send me what you’d say about your coworkers!
- Keep it PG, friends.
- Be kind to yourself & your team. It’s all in good fun!

Examples:
MOST LIKELY TO BECOME FAMOUS
MOST LIKELY TO BREAK A WORLD RECORD
MOST GSCC SPIRIT
MVP
MOST DEPENDABLE
BEST DRESSED
BEST SENSE OF HUMOR

Thanks for your help!!!

Accepting Nominations!

The new Core Value Champion form as been updated and ready for responses!

We received so many amazing candidates for last quarter that we have changed up the voting process. For this quarter, you will nominate your candidate with a story of how they exhibited a GSCC Core value. Once the time comes, the leadership team will narrow it down to 1 candidate per Core Value,  they will then select 1 overall CORE VALUE CHAMPION.

REMINDER:

ANYONE can submit a nomination, and you can nominate ANYONE for the Core Value Champion.  We have simplified the nomination form and we will be keeping the nomination period open throughout the quarter.  So if you see someone displaying one or more of our core values, take a minute and send in a nomination.

Click “read more” to see the nomination form and review full process.

Celebrating Our ONE Award Win: A Testament to Our Team's Dedication

Dear GSCC Team,

We have some fantastic news to share with all of you! It is with immense pride and joy that we announce that the Good Shepherd has been honored with the prestigious 2023 Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits' ONE (Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence) Award for outstanding healthcare. This recognition is a testament to the unwavering commitment, hard work, and passion that each one of you brings to our mission every single day.

The ONE Award is an annual event that highlights the exceptional achievements of nonprofit organizations across Oklahoma. By recognizing and honoring their dedication and innovation, the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits aims to inspire other organizations and individuals to make a positive impact on their communities. This year, our organization was selected from a pool of exceptional nominees for our commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes for the residents of our state.

This award is a collective accomplishment, and we could not have achieved it without the collaborative efforts of our entire team. Each one of you plays a crucial role in our mission to provide comprehensive healthcare services to underserved populations, including low-income families, the elderly, and those living in rural Oklahoma. Your unwavering dedication to the cause has not only improved access to care but also addressed critical health disparities in Oklahoma.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to each one of you. Your passion and dedication to improving healthcare in our state have made a significant impact on countless lives. As we celebrate this achievement, let us remember that our work is far from over. The ONE Award serves as a reminder of the positive impact we can have on the communities we serve, and it fuels our motivation to continue striving for excellence in all that we do.

Moving forward, let us use this recognition as an opportunity to expand our reach and further our mission. Together, we can continue to innovate, collaborate, and make a lasting difference in the lives of the people we serve.

Once again, congratulations and thank you for your exceptional work! Here's to many more accomplishments, as we continue to work together toward a healthier Oklahoma.

With gratitude and pride,
Teresa <3

Celebrating 10 years with GSCC!

Teresa Myers, our fearless CEO will be celebrating her 10 year anniversary with GSCC tomorrow! I didn’t want to let the date pass without taking a moment to recognize her and the hard work she’s done in those 10 years.

She not only had the vision to grow GSCC from less than 12 team members to the almost 100 team members during this period, but she has seen possibilities and potential in so many of us and given us the opportunity to grow and be better today than we were yesterday.

She not only was instrumental in developing our Core Values, but she exhibits them all as well. She has a sincere desire to transform healthcare in this small city, and doesn’t have plans to stop there. So hold on, and join us for this ride, cause she won’t stop until she accomplishes this goal!

Personally, Teresa has poured herself into helping me develop into the person I am today, and I will be forever grateful for her guidance (although, sometimes it felt a bit like pushing). I know you all know that feeling too., LOL. Even though the journey has been difficult, I can honestly say it was worth it.

So Thank you Teresa, for serving GSCC these last 10 years, and I’m excited to see what the next 10 years hold!
